Two badgers, one motorbike and a picnic

Boris and Betty are off for a day in the country. They ride a teal wooden motorbike sidecar toy, and they have packed everything for lunch: a picnic blanket, a basket, two sandwiches, two slices of Battenberg cake, two cups and a flask. Betty has remembered her handbag.

Small details that make it fun

Each badger has a name printed on the base, so kids know who is who straight away. The figures sit snugly on the bike, and the whole set measures about 16 cm long, which is a good size for a table or a lounge room rug. The food and drink pieces are tiny, and children enjoy laying out the picnic as much as the ride itself.

Ways to play

Some children drive the bike across the carpet to a picnic spot. Others carry the badgers off to a friend's house. Add a cardboard tunnel, a rug or a few trees from the Wooden Fir Tree Play Set and the countryside appears.

Keep the badgers company

The set is part of the Merrywood Tales story world, so the Merrywood Rosewood Cottage makes a natural destination. Individual woodland animals like the wooden badger can join the party too.
