The Schleich Starfish Colour Change 14902 is a small ocean figure from the Wild Life range. It has five arms and a textured surface, and its yellow base colour shifts to reddish, bluish and sand-coloured tones as the temperature changes. It is a figure children want to pick up and watch.
A starfish that changes colour
The colour change is the star feature. Warm hands, cooler surroundings and different spots around the house all give the starfish a different look, which turns a simple figure into a little experiment. The flat, five-armed shape sits easily in a pretend rock pool, a sensory tub or a seaside scene.
It also gives children something real to talk about. Many sea animals use colour to blend in with their surroundings, and this figure is a hands-on way to start that conversation.
Build a Wild Life collection
Pair it with the Schleich Capybara or the Schleich Elk for a mixed animal collection. Figures are sold separately.
