A pink wooden dolls house with room to grow
The Alouette House is a large wooden dolls house in pale plywood with a dusty pink roof, pink shutters and a pink front door. If you are shopping for a pink wooden dollhouse in Australia, it is easy to spot. Ten windows run across the front and sides, and every one has shutters and a frame that open and close. A gabled roof and a small porch gable above the door give the front a friendly, homely look.
Five rooms to decorate
Inside, five rooms are waiting to be filled. Because the house arrives empty, kids get to choose what goes where: a kitchen on the ground floor, a bedroom under the roof, a bathroom wherever it seems funny. The front opens up, so a few children can reach in at once without bumping heads.
Size and set-up
The house is 68.6 cm wide, 37 cm deep and 74.2 cm high, and it weighs about 10.3 kg, so it needs a proper spot on a shelf or the floor. Assembly is required. Dolls and furniture are sold separately, which means you can add pieces slowly over birthdays and Christmases.
Furnish it
Tender Leaf makes matching furniture and dolls. Start with the Dovetail Bedroom Set and the Mrs Goodwood doll with her baby, then work through the dollhouse collection. If you are still choosing between sizes, the Humming Bird Dollhouse is another Tender Leaf option to compare.
