A drinks trolley for the best mocktail party

This toy drinks trolley is a mint-green wooden stand on wheels with an orange and white striped awning and plenty of room for a menu. Kids serve lemonade, fruit crush and fizzy drinks from three wooden glasses in different shapes and colours, then add an umbrella, a slice of fruit, a striped straw and an ice cube or two.

Built-in storage

A compartment with a sliding lid hides the small pieces, and a shelf underneath holds more play food or extra cups. A blackboard circle on the front and the back lets children write the day's specials in chalk, so the trolley can run a cafe, a juice bar or a garden party.

Size and set-up

It stands 93.5 cm high, 61 cm wide and 30 cm deep, which is tall enough for a child to stand behind and serve. It weighs about 9.2 kg, and assembly is required, so allow some time to build it.

What kids learn while they serve

Children take turns being the barista and the customer, take orders and settle the bill. Hand-eye coordination gets a workout every time a glass goes in its slot, and older children tend to turn the whole thing into a business with a name and a price list.

Link it up

Stock the shelves with the Pretend Fruity Basket or the Pretend Wooden Eggs, and add the General Store Till for payments. More options are in the shop play collection.
