A mission control board for little astronauts

This wooden space toy is a flat board packed with things to press, turn and slide. A rotating wheel on the side reveals a changing space scene, like looking through a window into the void. A magnetic strip shows our solar system, with planets ready to place.

Controls and buttons

Kids work through a fuel tank gauge, a booster lever that moves up and down, knobs to turn, squishy buttons and a radar panel to find UFOs. Speak into the microphone, rotate the moon, move a satellite around the Earth and prepare for lift-off with a three-part rocket that moves.

Learning that does not feel like school

Children who like space get a hands-on way to learn the planets. The board gives them the order of the solar system, a countdown routine and plenty of room for storytelling. It is a flat board, so it travels well to the car, a restaurant or a grandparent's house.

Size

The board is about 43 cm wide, 32 cm high and 8 cm deep, and it weighs 1.6 kg.

Add the vehicles

The Space Voyager Play Set and the Cosmic Rocket Set give the astronauts something to fly. Both sit well with the Rocket Construction Set. Find more learning toys in the STEM toys collection.
